Can Fractional Radio Frequency Microneedling Treat Lip Lines and Laughter Lines?

Yes, radio frequency microneedling and microneedling are great treatments to treat lip lines and reduce other fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Microneedling with radio frequency and microneedling are great options for skin tightening with little to no downtime. Radio frequency microneedling causes a thermal and physical trauma to the skin, stimulates new collagen and elastin reducing lip lines, wrinkles and tightening the skin. Microneedling just causes physical trauma but we combine Mesoestetic Skin Boosters with microneedling to treat additional concerns that radio frequency microneedling can not.

What is fractional RF Microneedling?

Fractional RF micro-needling uses ultra fine needles to create tiny holes in the skin, this creates a wound healing response. The needles are also charged with radio frequency, this is delivered directly into the deeper layers of skin. The heat from the radio frequency energy also stimulates more collagen and elastin to regenerate the skin.

What other skin concerns can you treat with fractional RF Microneedling?

In addition to skin tightening to treat lip lines and wrinkles this treatment is great for anyone suffering with; acne scarring, scars, open pores, large pores, stretch marks etc. It improves overall skin tone and skin texture. On deep settings radio frequency microneedling using the Morpheus8 also coagulates fat to get rid of double chins, it lifts, tightens and contours the face.

Is RF Micro-Needling better than Microneedling?

Both microneedling & Radio Frequency Microneedling  stimulate the creation of new growth factors and production of more collagen and elastin. The benefit of Radio Frequency Microneedling is that the Radio Frequency also heats the deeper layers of the skin which will coagulate fat & facial contour. If lines are superficial then microneedling would be recommended combining some skin boosters.

How many treatments do i need?

Before going ahead with treatments we always recommend an  in-depth Initial Skin Consultation . Here we can assess your skin concerns and give you a treatment plan to suit your needs and lifestyle. The number of treatments depends on the severity of the concern and age of the client. 

Is there any downtime?

Down time does depend on the settings used and which Device is used. Generally you may have slight redness to the face initially after treatment but this will settle within an hour or two. We recommend discussing this with your practitioner on your skin consultation.

Is this similar to the treatment Judy Murray had?

Yes we use the Morpheus8, which is the exact Radio Frequency device that Judy Murray had. 

Who can have this treatment?

These treatments are suitable for all ages and we can treat all skin of colour from skin Fitzpatrick 1-6. We just wouldn’t recommend this treatment for anyone with active breakouts as it may spread bacteria and make them worse. For more breakout prone skin we would offer Laser Resurfacing instead.
